Automotive Parts Export Market Reaches a Turning Point in Electrification
The electrification transformation of the global automobile industry deepened in 2026, leading to disruptive shifts in the import and export structure of auto parts. Total annual parts exports are projected to exceed 920 billion yuan with a year-on-year increase of nearly 19%. Supporting components for the three core EV systems (battery, motor, electronic control) account for over 40% of total exports, acting as the core driver of auto parts foreign trade growth. By region, European countries rolled out aggressive NEV promotion policies, pushing exports of power batteries, vehicle controllers, thermal management systems and brake-by-wire chassis components to Europe up 24% year-on-year. ASEAN accelerated NEV industrial layout under RCEP dividends, and expanded local vehicle production boosted upstream and downstream auto parts orders with a 31% regional export growth rate. Markets in the Middle East and South America focus on traditional fuel vehicle wearing parts, body structural components and lighting systems, forming a stable basic business volume. Exports of conventional fuel vehicle spare parts gradually declined, with mature products such as brake pads, engine fittings and gearbox housings only circulating in stock markets. The trend forced supply chain enterprises to upgrade production lines and switch to supporting production for the new energy vehicle track. Auto parts exports face multiple external pressures including ongoing EU anti-subsidy investigations on electric vehicles, additional import tariffs in North America, and fragmented vehicle certification systems across nations, lifting compliance costs and customs clearance cycles. Leading industrial players respond by building local overseas manufacturing plants, establishing regional after-sales hubs, obtaining mandatory international certifications such as ECE and UL in advance, and adopting modular packaging to reduce logistics damage. International auto parts trade will evolve toward systematic overseas expansion in the future. Instead of exporting individual components separately, enterprises will build integrated overseas networks for warehousing, maintenance and recycling following complete vehicle exports. High value-added products including intelligent cockpits, vehicle sensors and high-voltage wiring harnesses will sustain long-term global growth momentum.
